I used to bake really awesome, homemade treats for friends and family at Christmas. From scratch breads and cookies and brownies and they were amazing. And sometimes even pretty.
These days…being a stressed out work-at-home mom of two…I rarely have time to pee during the day much less make anything homemade. I probably haven’t bought flour for over a year.
But since the boy loves baking and cooking with me we have discovered a few easy Christmas treats we can make together that take very little time, but still pack a punch. Here is the first one we’ve done this year.
Here’s what you need:
Reindeer Noses
1 bag of either small square pretzels or small round pretzels
Green and Red Christmas M&M’s
Hershey Kisses
It’s really so simple you can probably look at the picture and figure out how to do this, but since I’m already sharing I’ll walk you through it.
Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray and line the pretzels up in a single layer
Place one unwrapped Hershey’s Kiss in the center of each pretzel.
Melt in a 350 degree oven for about 3-5 minutes. Check it and pull it out as soon as the chocolate starts to melt.
Immediately press a M&M into the middle of each melted Kiss.
Put in the fridge to cool.
Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy.
This year I ran out of Kisses because the hubs and the boy eat them ..well..like candy. So I had to use some Hershey’s Bells and little square chocolates to finish out the pan. I don’t recommend you do this because only the original and wonderful Kiss has just the right amount of chocolate. Anything else spills over the pretzel and doesn’t come out cute.
An entire pan makes a lot….so if you have issues staying away from chocolate melted pretzels…pack them up in a cute bowl and take them to a neighbor or send it to a teacher.
